What does she bring to the table?
Everything! A woman brings everything to the table. yes! Everything. Her strength, her intelligence, her beauty, her weakness, her vulnerability, her shame, her inadequacy, her rights, her wrongs and even those times she make excuses for another human who blatantly hurt her with no care in the world.
Happy International Women's Day to every woman around the globe, irrespective of who you are. From our grandmothers to our mothers, us and our daughters. We all matter! everyone of us do.
From that woman who's qualified to be president and being constantly denied simply because of her genital, to that woman who's at the peak of her career in that well furnished air conditioned office, to that woman who owns a business doing well for herself and her family, to that woman who's trying to start her business with trepidation and to the "stay at home mom who's sacrificing everything for her children.
From that woman who got kicked out of the home she built with her husband because she's no longer beautiful enough or suitable for her husband's standard, struggling alone for years to cater for children she bore with another human and gradually finding her feet, to that newly separated or divorced woman who's confused and trying to find her feet in a cold world of judgemental folks who use other people's pain to console their own misery, pointing fingers and telling her it was all her fault.
From that woman seeking for the fruit of the womb, to those who are magnanimous enough to adopt another person's child for the love of humanity,or those women desperately in need of life partners who are willing to accept any man on the street to avoid being shamed for being single, to those woman enduring abuse and doesn't have the nerve to speak up and to the few truly happily married women.
Then, to the those innocent girls out there being raped and are afraid to speak up so they don't get blamed for their hurt, and to those helpless ones being forced to undergo female genital mutilation and those with hope for education.
I celebrate you all today because you all matter to me! Thank you for not giving up. Just yet... Never for a second let anyone convince you that you're not enough. You are more than enough!
