A Nigerian man has stabbed his wife to death and thereafter committed suicide by drinking sniper in Lekki.
The incident happened on Sunday 21st June, which was Father's Day in Victory Park estate, Lekki, Lagos State. The man identified as Chris reportedly stabbed his wife Olamide to death and then, drank two bottles of sniper and died. According to some residents of the said estate, the couple only moved into the estate three weeks ago with their two little kids.
The residents said that they didn't know much about the couple since they just moved in. It was also said that the couple were seen jogging on Saturday 20th June, a day before the incident.
A neighbor close by said that they heard loud music from the couples house and it continued for hours until they had to report to the estate authorities who came to the house to caution them. They also said that when they got to their house, they met the wife's sister with the two kids downstairs and complained to her about the music. The wife's sister quickly ran upstairs to call the attention of the couple to address the complaints, but discovered the doors were all locked and any attempt to open them were to no avail.
The estate authorities and the sister decided to break into the house only to be embraced by the gory sight. They discovered that the woman was tied down with cuts on her body. Different knifes were on the floor and her head was shaved with a clipper. The man had stabbed her head, her eyes and her body multiple times. The scene of the incident could only be compared to a horror movie. It was unbelievable.
According to the Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Bala Elkana who confirmed the incident as homicide and asked that the detectives start investigation immediately. the corpse of the deceased were transported to a hospital for an autopsy.
Bala Elkana said that two knives and two bottles of Sniper were found at the scene of the incident. He added that the woman had several injuries from stabbing while the husband was already foaming in the mouth. No one could ascertain what really transpired between the couple as investigation is still ongoing.
It is Alleged that a close friend to the couple said "Chris Ndukwe, 39, and Olamide Alli, 25, were said to have been dating on and off for over 7 years. They have a seven-year-old son and then had a second son, three years ago. However, trouble started when Chris began to doubt the paternity of their second child, insisting the child isn't his. It was gathered thaat Chris reportedly began to question the paternity of their second child after a mandatory DNA test they took for their Canadian visa showed that he was not the father of one of their children. He then questioned his wife, which led to him stabbing her to death, and then taking his own life. Chris allegedly tied her hands and taped her mouth, then began to uproot her braids with pliers. He then allegedly stabbed her viciously in the eyes, then about 11 times".
Is love really worth killing for? Can love be this selfish, jealous or cruel? Why not just walk away if you can't forgive? Why not kill yourself if you couldn't bear it, Why kill another person? I guess love needs a certain level of sanity and maturity before engaging in it.
That man did not kill out of love o, he killed out of immense rage, he was pulling out the women’s braids with plier, that alone was enough torture he didn’t have to kill her, kai, the man was just crazy at that time, may their soul Rest In Peace, so sad
He should have died alone poor kids
Sad story to leave...all in the name of love. He was a monster...leaves one pondering what he threatened her with.
This is terrible. Only God knows what drove him to commit such a heinous crime.
The brutal killing of his wife will let you know that that guy had serious mental illness. No matter the offence, I don't think there is any reason to take another person's life in such a brutal way.
Women should learn to say NO to abuse in relationships. The signs are always there but they ignore it because one pastor or woman leader somewhere told them to keep praying for the man to change. Can you change a full grown man? The answer is NO.
May her soul rest in peace.
