I remember back in the university when i heard the statement "God is dead" from my lecturer when he was introducing the topic of that day, i was taken aback, wondering how a human being could say that from his mouth. I wasn't a church goer nor could i call myself a dedicated Christianity, but i just knew it didn't sit well with me.
"God is dead" was posited by a German Philosopher and a Classical Theologian by name, Friedrich Nietzsche. In his exact words, he said:
"God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we have to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we ourselves not become gods simply to appear worthy of it?"

Seriously, If God is not dead, why is it that now Christians are giving thousands of money as tithes compared to when they brought produce from their Farmland to church as Tithe, why is it that now we have cathedrals at every corner of the streets, why is that now Professionals are abandoning their profession to become pastors, and we cannot separate the pastors from the occultists, compared to when the church leaders were stack Illiterates, how come we didn't need unexplainable miracles to believe that God truly exist then?
How come now that we have thousand of doctors in numerous hospitals compared to when a whole village had just one health center, and our grand-parents solely relied on Herbs for medication and people lived longer without adequate knowledge? How come life was less stressful in those days of ignorance?
Why is that that blood siblings can't trust one another and fight themselves like enemies, compared to those days that our fathers and their siblings built their houses in clusters and led a communal lifestyle? What has happened to the "Moonlight Stories" of those days when families assemble after dinner? What has happened to those long walk to church on "new year eve" not minding how late it was and we were not afraid of not being kidnaped?
What has happened to the Sermons of those days when we didn't have Bibles,
but enjoyed bible stories as moral instructions that were devoid any selfish monetary benefit. Why is it that we have more houses and cars with church stickers than godly hearts today? Why is it that we have more church daddies and mummies than biological parents. When did our biological siblings and parents become witches and enemies?
Again, i ask, if God is not dead, what happened to our hearts? Why is it so difficult to empathize with people these days than shame people? Why do we take pride in denigrating one another than appreciate others? why do gratify the dead than care for the living?
If God is not dead, why is there so much hate, jealousy and envy? Why are all guilty in one way or the other. I just listened to the video below and got really emotional and thought to share with others. May God touch our hearts individually and collectively to do the needful.... Always!
"Where did our heart go".A very powerful question, same as the ones raised in this post!!!We all really need to look inwards to answer all these questions truthfully.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!Amen oh!!!!
God is not dead however more people lose faith and believe in him everyday because of all the evil we are confronted with. Just imagine what goes through the mind of an average Christian Northerner whose church was burnt or whose daughter was kidnapped and has been repeatedly raped and is now expecting a child with her abuser. These are desperate times, people are questioning every thing.
First of all that video sent chills all over me, it was powerful and impactful. There is something called free will which God has given to everyone, unfortunately people use their free will to cause hurt and harm to other’s. I am still of the belief that Africa should have been left alone to develop at our own pace and time instead of the forced development and indoctrination by the western world that has left us more confused and lost. We can’t go back and we can’t move forward. To me our African traditional religion is more effective for us than Christianity. People were afraid to steal from a small shrine, but people steal from churches all the time. Majority of the pastors…
God can never die. A creation cannot kill its creator. The Bible discusses in Roman 8:31-39 that NOTHING CAN SEPARATE US FROM GODS LOVE. There is nothing that we can physically do to rid ourselves of God’s loves, except by our own admission that we don’t want to accept God’s love by choosing to sin (Isaiah 59:2). When Jesus died and rose again, he restored our covenant with God, putting sin to death. So when we choose to ignore our relationship with God and trade it for religious acts, we weaken our relationship with God to where He is no longer visible in our hearts. God desires relationship with Him, not religion. Obedience is better that sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22)…
