BENIN MONARCH WELCOMES AND NAMES HIS INFANT PRINCE, IDUGBOWA EWARE.

The Benin palace was thrown into a festive mood as the Monarch, Oba Eware 11 welcomed his youngest prince from his youngest wife wife, Olori Iyayota Eware. The Iyase of Benin kingdom (Prime Minister), chief Sam Igbe disclosed the news to newsmen as the Benin Traditional Council initially broadcasted the birth of a new Prince of the kingdomo Oba Eware11, Oba of Benin.

An immense festival held at the royal residence on 25th July to invite the infant sovereign Prince whose naming ceremony was witnessed by the aristocrats, chiefs and dignitaries. The new Prince Idugbowa Ewuare is the second to be destined to the ruler on the seat, but the first prince born since the Oba ascended his throne in 2016.

The Olori rendered a song as she handed the Prince over to his father to herald the occasion. It was indeed a colorful and joyous occasion as expected of the royal palace of the Benins.
